Thrift it Fix it: Bye, Bye Bootleg

In this series, I’ll show you why an outfit didn’t work and the steps I took to fix it! I love this topic because we all run into this issue when we’re styling ourselves and sometimes all it takes is a simple fix to go from nay to yay! I encourage you to follow Dina’s Days on Instagram to catch these posts on my stories.

Before:

I really wanted to wear the bell sleeve top with the vest because I thought it would add an interesting element to the look. I also grabbed my comfy bootleg pants because they feel like pajama pants. However, the look was so frumpy, that I didn’t bother to put shoes on to complete the outfit.

The Fix:

Those pieces were doing nothing for that vest or for my frame. I knew I wanted to keep my base black so the camel vest could be the focal point of the look so I swapped my bootleg pants with a pair of fitted black ankle pants, swapped the bell sleeve top with a simple black blouse, and added a heel to elongate the look.

The details:

Vest: Target (2016)
Shirt: thrifted (many years ago)
Pants: Rafella ankle pants via Burlington
Shoes: Soda (via amazon, sold out)
Necklace: Allie M. Designs (local boutique)
