Thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s Thrift Challenge! It has been an exciting month preparing for this segment. Katie challenged us to recreate a casual chic outfit we found on Pinterest, which featured distressed boyfriend jeans, a white blazer, and a gray tee. Surprisingly, a fitted white blazer was harder to find than the sequined skirt I wore in last month’s challenge. In fact, three challenge participants said the same thing. I found striped blazers for days, but it wasn’t until my third visit to the thrift store that I find a fitted white one. Although the mission behind our Thrift Challenge is to prove that you can shop with an idea in mind, sometimes  it takes a little patience to find what you’re looking for. Same goes for any store though, how many times have you gone to the mall looking for something specific just to turn around and go back home? The only difference is when you finally do find the item you’re looking for at the thrift store, the reward is even greater because you scored it at a ridiculously low price!

I decided to modify the challenge a bit by not distressing my boyfriend jeans. I also tried something new and wore my belts backwards!

Now, for the fun part! Let’s get through the reader challenge submissions!

Love how Lynsie DIY’d her jeans to match the inspiration photo

Um, hello shoes! Cookie spiced things up a bit with red pumps.

Katie  made it her own by wearing comfy shoes and an awesome DIY for a worn distressed look.
My friend Camille looks so bad ass in her sunglasses and thrifted denim!
Loving all this maternity style! Katie’s friend Emily opted for layered tees in place of a belt – genius!

This is too cute for words! Heathyr loves to thrift shop for both herself and her children. Mila joined in on the fun too! Heathyr also makes baby moccasins using repurposed leather from thrifted items in her store bohobambino.
Fellow thrifter LeTroy nailed it with her snake skin pumps!

Vote for your favorite look! Winner receives a thrifted fashion prize pack. Voting ends March 30th!
VOTING HAS ENDED. THANK YOU!

*Because Katie helped facilitate this challenge, she chose not to  be included in the voting process.
Now let’s all head over to Katie’s blog to see how she and her readers recreated this 3 tiered stand DIY!
