Nothing is worse than working out with uncomfortable sneakers. I’m no Olympian athlete or marathon runner but do appreciate a good pair of comfy shoes. I recently purchased these New Balance sneakers and felt like I was walking on a cloud (or cotton candy, whatever you’re into).
It’s been a busy summer so I’ve been feeling like things are off balance a bit. Since there wasn’t much I could do to change my schedule around, I realized I had to find balance from within and limit the distractions.
Common Threads Thrift, located at 22049 Lorain Road in Fairview Park opened last month and the fine folks over there invited me to check it out and host a giveaway for my thrifty readers. Anytime I visit a new thrift store, I find myself looking for a few certain elements (you can read about these elements here). Here are a few reasons why I loved this new thrift store and think you will too.

I spotted this H&M skirt at Goodwill Akron one night when I was hosting a Thrift Night Out and I hesitated to buy it. Ever since I purged my home and closet, I’ve really trying to avoid buying trendy pieces.
When my husband and I visited the Biscuit House in Nashville, we spotted a map covered with push pins as a way for customers to identify where they were visiting from. I loved this idea and thought it would be cool to do a similar project at home identifying all of the places we’ve traveled, especially since with my husband being on the road touring so much.
My obsession with denim shirts started about six years ago when I found the perfect GAP denim button down at Goodwill. I quickly realized how incredibly versatile they are. They are also easy to wear and never go out of style.

We recently traveled to Nashville for our one year wedding anniversary and had a great time. Between the music, food, and history there’s a lot to explore. We stayed downtown right in the middle of all of the action. As much as the touristy stuff gets old, I recommend staying downtown.
Anyone else try to eat while wearing bell sleeves? Not a good look.
I love 70s fashion. It’s one of my favorite decades for fashion. I find myself constantly drawing inspiration from that time, so I’m thrilled to see many of the styles – both in home decor and fashion- make a huge comeback this season.
Decorating with plants if one my favorite things to do around the house. I’ve replaced many of our knick knacks with plants and succulents over the last year and I couldn’t be happier with this decision. Plants are not only inviting and good for the air in your house, but they are inexpensive and totally making a decor comeback.
Manicure anxiety is real, guys. I’ve mentioned several times on this blog about my lack of decision making skills and the nail salon is no exception. One time the manicurist got so impatient with me because I went in with full intentions to get a nude color and ended up with fire engine red after going back and forth about a dozen times.
