Life Lately

Hey friends, I’m back from a brief blog and social media hiatus and I’d like to introduce you to my baby bump! We’ve got a little thrifter in training living in there and we can’t wait to meet our baby girl in 2018. Between moving into our first home and learning about our bundle of joy, it’s been a whirlwind of a journey thus far, and the best is yet to come! Firstly, we’ve now moved into our new home. It was a stressful time, but we’re so comfortable and happy with our new property. Moving into your first home is always scary and can be overwhelming, but my friend very kindly sent me over this article to read that explained everything about owning your first home. That was really useful, it reminded us that we needed to sort out home insurance and other things, like for those that need to find a realtor akin to a Greensboro real estate agent at the start of their process too. We’re slowly sorting everything out and getting settled in. Then there’s the pregnancy.

The first few months of pregnancy brought a lot of excitement as well as many lessons, fast. I never knew it was possible to feel that tired all.the.time. I’m usually a “go, go, go” kind of person and learning how to listen to my body has become so incredibly important. Learning how to dress for my changing body was also a bit of challenge for me in the beginning. I kept trying to make my old clothes work and although I was able to transition many of my existing pieces into my new maternity wardrobe, some things just didn’t fly. I quickly learned that belly bands are pure gold in your first trimester and that there’s absolutely no shame in making the switch to maternity pants as early as you feel you need them. I also found that as much as I love loose-fitting clothing for comfort, dresses and tops that hug your new belly can be just as comfortable and if not, even more flattering.

Although not all maternity, I ordered a handful of tops online that I know will allow room to grow throughout my pregnancy and I can easily transition post-baby. Since this elbow patch striped t-shirt was only $9 (those are some thrift store prices!) I picked it up in both black and white. It definitely runs small, so size up. It’s also not a soft cotton tee as the image makes it seem, it’s more of a polyester but still a great fall top.

This utility vest is my life right now. I’ve had my eye on it at Target since it came out and happened to snag it on clearance during a quick Target run on my lunch break. Seriously, this is a fall must-have!

I’m so excited for this new chapter and looking forward to sharing highlights with you all!
