How To Wear A Leopard Print Top 4 Ways For Fall

Leopard print is one of those versatile prints that just seem to keep coming back year after year. I recently picked up an oversized, semi-sheer leopard print top up at the Goodwill in Brook Park for $1 and came up with four ways to wear it this fall. Really, I came up with probably eight ways but was starting to get really hot trying on wool blazers and tights in the middle of August.

For Work: Layering

Layering underneath a button down was both fun and annoying. I had to find the right fit of button down for it look streamlined and smooth. A deep purple button down looked best but the style of the shirt just wasn’t “layer-able” My favorite part is the double collar.

For Work: Color blast trouser pants

Red, burgundy, and deep purple trousers are everywhere for fall. We saw a lot of colored denim and skinny pants this summer and I’m so excited to see clean and structured color pants that can be worn to work. Remember these pants? Here, I tied the top at the waist, added an oversized clutch and high platforms for another “work” or more professional look.

For Play: Bright pops of color

Leopard print goes well with so many bright colors, including red, blue, and fuchsia. This is just an example of how you could add a really bright pop of color for a going out or party look. Because the top is semi-sheer, you could even wear a black bra underneath for an edgy look (if you’re comfortable with that, of course!)

For Play: Relaxed Weekend

I wanted to be able to just throw this top on and run out. So I tucked it in on the sides, layered with a relaxed cardigan, added flats with colored cropped pants. This top looked great with red skinny pants and coral pants as well. And lastly of course, you can never go wrong with jeans!

Which one is more your style? What could you see yourself wearing with a leopard print top?
