Good Buy: 10 under $10

Some of my favorite blog posts and magazine articles to read are the simple, straight forward ones on easy to find and affordable items. Things I’ve seen in the store countless times but have also wondered about them. Here are ten of my favorite beauty items under $10 that have been hanging around my house lately:

  1. Good old fashioned Vaseline petroleum jelly. I use a dab on my lips for shine and moisture. I also use this on my eyebrows for a clean shine and to tame those bad boys in between waxing visits. Plus, this is great on rougher areas like knees, elbows and ankles.
  2. Kenra Hot Spray-is incredible. Use it as a styling tool when applying heat. My hair is very fine and curls never last, except when I use hot spray while curling my hair they curls are bouncy and last all day.
  3. John Frieda Dry Shampoo+Volume Spray. I don’t wash my hair every day, in between washes I use this dry shampoo and I’m amazed how well it works to make my hair look just washed fresh and not weighed down.
  4. New scented Dial soaps are  less than $2 and smell great. Dial soaps used to remind me of public bathrooms, but I’m really impressed with the new line of scented soaps. The scents are subtle yet refreshing.
  5. Jergens Shea Butter lotion. I’ve been using St.Ives body lotion for a few years and never really took Jergens seriously for no apparent reason. I wish I would have made the switch sooner. I refuse to spend a lot of money on an every day moisturizing lotion, but won’t settle for something very cheap and watered down. Jergens Shea Butter is surprisingly thicker than most regular lotions but not greasy at all.
  6. NYX Blushes are nicely pigmented for a great value. Plus, they last forever.
  7. Olay Quench Beauty Bars are very gentle on the body and face. Ever since I switched and started washing my face twice daily with Olay bars I haven’t seen any breakouts. They don’t dry out your skin like most bar soaps do.
  8. Ulta Cabana Coral polish (or any Ulta polish, really) is a great value. This color screams summer so why wouldn’t you color with coral?
  9. Nivea tinted lip moisturizer: Subtle color and moisturizing at the same time.
  10. L’Oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black. I’ve mentioned this mascara numerous times on my blog. For dramatic, eye popping lashes look no further.
