Travel Guide: Dearborn Michigan Arabic Food Tour

When I visit Dearborn I feel like I stepped back in time to my childhood days growing up in Amman, Jordan. Located in Wayne County, Michigan, this city is home to the largest Arab American population in the United States. The streets are lined with hundreds of Arab-owned businesses and restaurants serving authentic Middle Eastern food.

Travel Guide: Savannah

Four words: Savannah is stupid cute.
The first time I visited Savannah was several years ago while on vacation in Hilton Head with my husband’s family.  My husband had been going there on day trips with his family his entire life, but as a newbie, I wasn’t prepared for the charm this city had to offer.

Travel Guide: Barcelona

Our three-city European trip last fall included stops in Lisbon, Barcelona, and Ponta Delgada– a fantastic combination. As I mentioned in my Libson guide, I was initially most ecstatic about our stop in Barcelona. However, Lisbon quickly bumped Barcelona down to third place during our European excursion. Needless to say though, it was undoubtedly a fantastic visit and one I highly recommend.

Travel Guide: Lisbon

When we planned our European trip to Barcelona, Lisbon, and the Azores I was mostly excited about visiting Barcelona and didn’t give Lisbon too much thought. However, this city quickly landed on the short list of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited. Between the old charm, the colors, food, and ease of accessibility and affordability, Lisbon blew me away.

Travel Guide: Azores

Most of what I knew about the Azores Islands was based off an Anthony Bourdain episode and a terrible tourism video on YouTube. My husband really wanted to honeymoon there and for some reason, none of those were enough to convince me to go. However, after a few last minute and unexpected changes to our Spain and Portugal vacation, we decided to spontaneously add the Azores to our trip.

Melbourne Travel Guide

Australia has always been on my bucket list but the plan to go always seemed a little out of reach (as most bucket list items seem in life!) Even looking into the voco Hunter Valley Hotel in Australia, for example, didn’t seem real, as I was never sure when visiting this country would become a reality.

DIY: Travel Board

When my husband and I visited the Biscuit House in Nashville, we spotted a map covered with push pins as a way for customers to identify where they were visiting from. I loved this idea and thought it would be cool to do a similar project at home identifying all of the places we’ve traveled, especially since with my husband being on the road touring so much.

City Spotlight: Things to do in Nashville

We recently traveled to Nashville for our one year wedding anniversary and had a great time. Between the music, food, and history there’s a lot to explore. We stayed downtown right in the middle of all of the action. As much as the touristy stuff gets old, I recommend staying downtown.

New Orleans Restaurants

We stayed at a charming hotel on Chartes Street called the Chataeu. It was affordable and blocks away from everything.

New Orleans is a wonderful place to visit. It’s vibrant, the food is delicious, and the music on every corner is like a dynamic soundtrack to the city. Plus, you can drink on the street and nearly every place offers drinks to-go, soooo…there you have it.
