Insect Inspired Trend

I don’t know if it’s the longing for spring or if it’s my love for embellished things, but I am just smitten by the insect-inspired trend this year. I had my eye on a pair of embellished bumble bee boots at Torrid for weeks not realizing that this trend was huge on the runway last year.

Holiday Gift Guide

Some of the things I’m loving around the web, linked below! Hope this inspires your holiday shopping lists. Be sure to click the arrow for more.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.

Pink Velvet Shoes

I am totally on board with the velvet trend, including velvet shoes. There’s something so elegant about this look and I love how all of the new styles out there make it so easy to incorporate this texture into your every day look (see how I wore a velvet dress that was identical to one I wore in the fifth grade).

World Market Furniture Sale

When I’m not thrifting home decor items, I’m at World Market! When we moved into our new home this summer, I found myself popping over there or browsing online quite a bit, especially when we decided on global inspired decor for living room (see the photo of our living room above).

Just Peachy

I haven’t purchased new makeup in quite sometime, mainly because my go-to beauty products have been treating me well. Recently though, I felt like it was time for a change. As much as I am a bright and bold kind of girl, I’ve been in the mood for neutral makeup. So my sister the makeup guru helped me update my makeup bag with a few staple items.

Moonstone Magic

I recently learned about, a bohemian style website that carries a stunning variety of handmade, Rainbow Moonstone sterling silver jewelry. I was immediately drawn to the boho styles that reminded me of the jewelry I wore as a pre-teen in the 90s, but the really interesting part was learning a little lesson and getting to know the origin of this stone.

Embroidered Clutch

Two things that always stop in my tracks when I’m thrifting: sequin dresses and embroidery. I think my obsession with embroidery stems from my Arab roots and our traditional handmade dresses. When I was in Barcelona last fall, I spent hours in a two story vintage shop.

Floral Flats

I’ll be wearing these at home, with my pjs breaking them in until spring is officially here to stay. Amazon is my go-to place to shop when I’m not thrifting. I recently ordered these floral flats for only $20 on Amazon.  They add the perfect pop of color to any outfit.  They run big though, so I recommend ordering 1/2 size down.

Laser-Cut Shoes

Get ready, you’re about to start seeing laser-cut everything, everywhere. I’m not complaining though, I love this trend for spring and summer! Here’s a roundup of my favorite finds around the web.

Saddle Bags

Saddle bags are great because they are both fashionable and practical. I love that you can wear them either as a cross body bag or across one shoulder. Plus, the shape is both interesting and roomy enough for a wallet. I picked up several of these bags from Wal-Mart for holiday gifts. Unfortunately, it’s sold out online but you might be able to find it at your local store.
