Instagram post 2189714396586851822_4650451 What can 60 minutes and $35 get you at the thrift store? Check my stories or IG TV!! This haul got my thriftdrenaline PUMPING because I thrifted super specific things on my list for the entire family, including nieces, nephews, sisters, and more! My family members text me things they want me to look out for and I keep them on a running list while I’m thrifting. This haul is estimated to have a retail value of $650-$700 😭 check my story for a side by side thrift / retail comparison!
Instagram post 2189354383720628828_4650451 It’s Secondhand Sunday! Secondhand is becoming more mainstream, but thrifting gifts? Still a little taboo.

A few weeks ago on @rethriftrodeuce podcast (episode 15) we shared some reasons why we love thrifting gifts:
♾
-You can find brand new items with tags or in box
-It reduces environmental waste
-You can find unique and one-of-a-kind items
-It forces you to explore areas of the thrift store that you typically wouldn’t explore
-It saves you so much money

Never thrifted a gift before? Here are some tips to get you started:

Keep a running list at all times
Shop all year round for gifts when you’re out thrifting. See something awesome in January and your friend’s birthday is in September? Buy it and save it for later!

Know your audience
If your recipient appreciates the thought of a thrifted gift, get creative! Mix and match vintage and new. There are some situations where a secondhand gift just might not feel right for some recipients, (I talk about how this happened to me on the podcast) in that case, stick with thrifted items that are new with tags or new in box.

Mix and match new and thrifted items
If you still need more time to warm up to the idea of thrifting a gift for someone, try mixing and matching a new gift with a preloved thrifted find. This is a great way to get your feet wet while adding a little extra character to your gift bag.

Keep an eye out for accessories
Gift baskets, boxes, tins, vases, planters, clutches – these are all great accessories that you can find at secondhand stores for your gifts.

DIY!
Head to the thrift store to pick up items you can DIY like mugs, frames, and more.

Instagram post 2188919499172848946_4650451 Popped into Goodwill for a quick power thrift (I had my toddler with me so that’ll give you a pretty good guess for how long I was there 😛) I picked up a few holiday items and spotted these vintage velvet chairs. They are in perfect condition, someone go get them!
