Good Buy: 10 under $10

Some of my favorite blog posts and magazine articles to read are the simple, straight forward ones on easy to find and affordable items. Things I’ve seen in the store countless times but have also wondered about them. Here are ten of my favorite beauty items under $10 that have been hanging around my house lately:

Good old fashioned Vaseline petroleum jelly.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation

I bought the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation with SPF 15 a little over a month ago. I wanted to wait a while before I posted the review to really get a feel for the product. I had a Macy’s gift card so I figured I would use it towards a MAC product I probably wouldn’t buy otherwise.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks

Ok, I admit. I went a little crazy. I was at Marc’s, a local discount grocery store and in the closeouts section they had a fresh batch of Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks piled in baskets for 99 cents. Considering they are usually about $7 sometimes $8 at places like Ulta, I couldn’t control myself, so I bought six of them.

5 Great Body Washes

It’s so amusing to see the difference between men’s body washes {or lack thereof} and women’s. Ours are a romantically packaged creamy goodness that leave behind the essence of a tropical island in our bathrooms and on our bodies.  Honestly, I’m the subject every marketing team has in mind because I’m a total sucker for pretty packaging and fantasy smell goods.

Sonia Kashuk Bristle Hair Brush

If I had to narrow down the best purchases I’ve made in the last year or so, the Sonia Kashuk Bristle Brush has got to be in my top 5. I have long, fine, hair that tangles very easily. Too easily. For the past 6+months, I have completely given up on buying new brushes, and have been using my sisters brush daily. I am a huge fan of Sonia Kashuk, and think her Target collection is pure genius.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry shampoo in original scent.
Aresol spray
5.5 oz bottle
$5-$7
Available at Sally’s, Amazon and various drugstores online.

A good friend of mine swears by Batiste Dry Shampoo, and suggested it to my sisters and I some time ago. Like many, I don’t like to wash my hair everyday to avoid drying it out, so this product really interested me.
