What is Argan Oil?
Actual argan oil comes from the fruit of the Argan tree which is native to Morocco. It is rich in Vitamin E and is great for skin, nails, and hair. Most mainstream argan oil is diluted with ingredients and preservatives, so naturally, 100% argan oil is the best option.
What’s with the Moroccan Oil hype?
Moroccan Oil (the brand) hit the shelves of salons over recent years and exploded in popularity. It claimed to provide shine, softness, and bring damaged, dry hair back to life. According to thousands of reviews online, the majority of reviewers have been raving about Moroccan Oil saying it has lived up to it’s promise.
Moroccan Oil vs. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil
Naturally, when a product succeeds as well as Moroccan Oil did, other companies are going to jump on the opportunity to provide similar, but more affordable versions. The most important factor for me was ingredients.
The ingredients in both products are very similar, both containing argan oil. However, the big difference is that the actual argan oil is third on the ingredient list in the Moroccan Oil’s brand, whereas it’s the seventh ingredient on the list in the Organix brand. This means there isn’t as much actual argan oil in the Organix brand as there is in the Moroccan Oil brand, which in turn means you might need to apply more-almost double the amount of the Organix brand to achieve the same result.
Both will last a very long time because you only need to use a tiny bit and avoid applying close to scalp. The Moroccan Oil brand will probably last longer because you don’t need to use as much as the Organix brand.
