Last month Katie and I asked you to help us decide what we should recreate for the August thrift challenge and I wasn’t surprised when this tulle outfit from Seams for a Desire won the majority of the votes.
I’ve owned this thrifted Express tulle skirt for a few years and have never really known how to wear it without looking like I was trying too hard. (I have the exact same skirt in purple, also thrifted, seen here). This outfit is totally wearable and I didn’t want to take it off! I love how Jessie from Seams effortlessly balanced a somewhat loud and fancy skirt with a simple gray tee.
I thrifted the gray tee for $3, added a Forever 21 necklace and an old faux leather jacket that I bought at Gabe’s years ago.
Considering I’m back on a spending freeze, I loved that I was able to piece this outfit together using items I already owned, including this vintage belt that I thrifted a couple years ago for $5.
I knew that I wouldn’t get much wear out of a pair of thrifted snake skin pumps so I opted to save my money and wear a pair of heels I already owned.
The details:
Tee: thrifted $3, Village Discount Outlet
Belt: thrifted $5, Village Discount Outlet
Skirt: Express, thrifted $5, Village Discount Outlet
Jacket: Gabe’s price unknown (old)
Shoes: Aldo, price unknown (old pair)
Necklace: Forever 21
Now let’s head over to Katie’s blog to see how she painted a dresser! I can’t wait see it, I love it already.
