Practical Gift Ideas

I’ve been a practical gift giver for as long as I can remember. I’m always on the lookout for things that my recipients can use repeatedly for years.  This is a both a blessing and a curse, because does mom really want another pair of slippers? Here are a few things we’ve purchased lately that we use all the time and would make great gifts for that practical person on your list.

  • The Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth Speaker (Black) is one of the best gifts I’ve ever purchased for my husband. He takes it with him everywhere. It picks up a bluetooth signal from your phone, iPad, computer or any other bluetooth compatible device from far away so you don’t have to be near your device for it to work. The sound is excellent too. He’s used this speaker every single day since last March and it’s still going strong.
  • How did I ever live without a salad spinner?! I used to dry my lettuce on paper towels. Salad spinners are truly one of the best inventions ever. Snag this Ikea Tokig Salad Spinner, in White for $10.

  •   This mini fridge is hands down one of the best purchases I’ve made in 2015. Our bedroom is pretty far away from our kitchen and we just wanted something small that would fit water bottles for a late night drink. This Personal 6-Can Mini Fridge Cooler/Warmer is PERFECT. It’s small and discrete and has both a cold and warm setting. It even has a plug for your car so you can take it on tailgates or road trips. You can stick this under your desk at work or even use it in a dorm room. I’ve read a lot reviews of women using it for breast milk bottles at work or at home – genius! Highly recommend this gem.
  • Not the most pleasant gift, but a really important and practical one, Police Magnum Pepper Spray is a must have for your mom, sister, or best friend. My sister bought a pack of four and split them up among the women in our family and I can’t imagine going anywhere without it now.
