The older I get the more selective I am when it comes to ultra trendy pieces. I’ve accumulated so many trendy things over the years only to a) regret my decision five years later and b) I end up donating them 12-18 months after I wear them. It’s not worth it. With that being said, when I found this heart romper at an H&M in Chicago, I knew it was worth the purchase, and two years later, I have yet to give it up. I went roller skating with some friends recently and the first outfit that came to mind was this romper. It was perfect for comfort while attempting to do the splits it and made me feel like it was 1975 as I skated around the rink — despite the fact that Teach Me How to Dougie was playing in the background. To toughen up an extremely girly piece (come on, a romper with hears on it?) I added a faux leather jacket I’ve had for five years. I’ve worn this with cardigans before but I think the leather jacket is my favorite option. And lastly, I added a pair of Target booties I found at the Marc’s closeouts section and my DIY glitter clutch for a little sparkle under the disco lights.
