DIY Peppermint Salt Scrub

I love salt scrub but am often too cheap to buy it. I recently bought a 3oz container of it for $7 while vacationing on the beach, and although it felt incredible on my skin, I really didn’t want to have to keep paying for something I could easily make at home. This took me less than 10 minutes to make.

What you need:

  • Peppermint essential oil (or the scent of your choice) I got this at the pharmacy for less than $2.
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil (you can also use almond oil or coconut oil, I am a huge fan of olive oil in the hair, and on the skin and nails).
  • 1 cup of kosher salt (it’s important to use kosher salt because regular salt isn’t as coarse).
  • Crushed peppermint (this is optional and I’m not even really sure if I should be adding it to the mixture but it smelled really good!!)
  • A jar

What to you need to do:

Pour salt into jar
Add olive oil. I used a corkscrew to mix everything, it worked better than a spoon!
Add peppermint oil
mix well
scrub away!

I tested this in the shower and the entire bathroom smelled heavenly and most importantly my skin feels silky smooth!
