If I had to narrow down the best purchases I’ve made in the last year or so, the Sonia Kashuk Bristle Brush has got to be in my top 5. I have long, fine, hair that tangles very easily. Too easily. For the past 6+months, I have completely given up on buying new brushes, and have been using my sisters brush daily. I am a huge fan of Sonia Kashuk, and think her Target collection is pure genius. I own a few of her beauty brushes, and couldn’t be happier. So when I saw this brush at Target, I didn’t even hesitate to buy it. I have never spent more than $5 on a brush, so the $15 price tag naturally seemed a little high at first. But lately, it’s been all about quality and not quantity for me. I’m aiming to buy investment pieces, whether it’s beauty prodcuts, shoes, or clothing.
This paddle brush, with boar hair, blew me away. My hair feels like pure silk after I brush it, and doesn’t get tangled nearly as much. The boar is hair in the bristles are supposed to keep your hair shiny, and looking healthy. Reading online, many consumers compared this to the well known Mason Pearson brush. I’ve never tried one, so I can’t really vouch for that, but what I can say is that a $5 or $10 drugstore brush can’t even compare to this one. The bristles really “activate” the scalp for a deep, all around brush. I sleep with my hair down at night, because ponytails bother me while I’m sleeping, and braids always end up falling out, so I brush my hair with my SK brush before bed, and in the morning my hair still feels great, and is hardly tangled. I highly recommend this brush, I also recommend taking good care of it. Pull loose hairs out of it following every brush, and clean it on a regular basis. By doing so, this brush will surely last you a very long time.
