Style File: Suspenders

While thrifting a few months ago, I spotted a pair of suspenders for probably 50 cents. I looked at them for a long time, even put them in my cart wondering if I would a) have the balls to really where them, and b) if I did wake up with a set of testes one day giving me the courage to wear these suspenders, what the heck would I wear them with? So, I did a little research to see if this trend would happen to be on the rise again, and how the fabulous rich and famous are wearing them. Considering all of the suspenders I found in the MaxMara Fall Ready to Wear collection for 2012, I'd like to think the entire collection was designed with me in mind.

Obviously, it looks lovely on the model. Because she's about 15 pounds and has a flawless face, but I'm wondering how this would pan out in real life. I've seen this style on guys in some street style photos and think it looks cool because they make it their own. Perhaps I'll pick up a pair for 50 cents and see what I can come up with. What do you think? Yay or Nay to the suspenders look?
